Getting into the QV is a bit like a pre flight check in the cockpit.

Put on seat belt
Press Start Engine button
Attach radar detector to mount
Press Auto Stop disable button
Turn DNA selector to D
Press Suspension button to soft
Push Transmission lever Forward to Drive
Push Transmission lever left to Manual
Put on Maui Jims
Whew... Now I'm ready to go:cool:

Yeah for me it's waiting until the valves close before putting her into gear to warm up just a bit; get the fluids moving... always in D, so no messing about with the selector unless it's really nice out and I'm feeling Race mode (no stupid driving though - have Michelins as well for better grip outside of the Pirelli "zones").

Haha love it. Seriously though, I have a cold start and initial driving routine as well due to past experience with this car.

1) Start engine in Normal mode
2) Idle for about 20 seconds or longer if I haven’t driven it for more than 24 hours or if idle seems more rough than usual
3) Wait for exhaust valves to close
4) Shift into D and disengage parking brake
5) Proceed to drive with no more than 1/3 throttle
6) Use more throttle as engine warms up
7) Switch modes as needed only when 3 bars shown on oil temp gauge

Who else does something like this?

sort of. I hated the stock tires. Much happier with the Michelins. Those old tires were trying to kill me
Do you live in a cold climate zone? The Corsas are superb in dry and temperate S. California
The lane keeping feature is the dangerous app IMO

2020 which defaults on start to N. Also there is a 12v outlet below the screen. Much better IMO than the one hidden in the center armrest. We use the Uniden in more than one car so it has a windshield mount.

Maui Jims? What is this, 2003?
By far and away the best quality for the money. Sugar Beach model is a basic aviator shape that weighs nothing.
I have a few pairs, in all the cars and on my desk at work.

I do pretty much what you do as I strongly believe in mechanical sympathy until oil and engine systems get up to temperature. I idle at cold start for at least a minute before setting off. One correction in what you said, item 3, it is not the exhaust valves that close, it is the turbo waste gates closing as they are open when you start the car.

Is drink/food allowed in your car?. If NO, it's understandable. If YES, before the "put on seat belt" it may be "place the big coffee mug in cup holder" !!!!!

I live in a somewhat moderate climate but the stock tires are absolutely terrible when it rains. We get 60 inches of rain a year.

we do get snow and ice here occasionally and it does get below freezing during the winter months but I have a Saab wagon for the winter.

I start car
Put seatbelt on
SS is already disabled out from tune. Thank goodness.
turn dragy on. Check DA (determines how hard I’ll rip it)
Plug in IPhone. Wait what seems like 27 minutes it takes for screen to stop being all shingad.
let car warm up to one bar or 70 degrees oil temp on gauge.
drive slow until rear tires show 33 psi.
then I let it rip.

I tried to make some Dragy passes last night but it just spins on PS4s tires.

I wish we had an oil temp reading. I like to let it get to 150 before I beat on my cars.

PS4s and corsa are not good if your making power and it’s cold. Toyo seem to be the easiest to heat up. Even they can get sketchy with power. The Celtic logger will show oil temps. Not sure how accurate but it’s a general idea. I’m usually at 180-190 in winter. And 200+ in warmer weather. Heat soak is real in QV. Once I get turbo all fixed the WMI should really help with lower temps overall.
