Well, after filling up the tank today i got a surprise (base 2.0), curious if anyone else had this happen.
2 warning lights came on, one says Auto Start/Stop not operative, and the other is the Engine Service light. I am happy to hear the auto Start/Stop does not operate, but now I also found out the DNA modes are also not operable. Will need to go visit the dealer and see. The car seems to run normally, but i am not sure what mode is on D N or A (!)
As far as software updates, i did get that done about a month back due to a prior warning light and rough running, but maybe there is now a further update.
I can see how this can get old pretty quick (I was feeling lucky with very few issues since delivery, and now around 1800 miles)

I had this after first fill up. It took about a day for it to go away on its own. Dealer ran an update a few days later. Hasn't happened since but Ive only put 3 tanks in .

Same exact thing just happened to me while driving out of my garage. Car started shuddering and the warnings came on. Drove it for a few miles, stopped, opened the hood, closed it, and the warnings went away. I haven't opened the hood since I got the car 4 weeks ago so not sure what's going on here, but I am going to take it in for service this week.

This happened to me yesterday, and I took the car in right away. This is the 3rd time I had to visit the dealer and leave my car there for them to figure something out. +1 for this getting old really quick.

Got the car back yesterday and they loaded a bunch of updates to it that address various things.

Regarding the actual issue I had, here are the dealer's comments:

Attached Alfa Romeo scan tool, found code P2B2F00 for radiator fan Performance/Stuck off is stored, not active. Commanded fan on using WiTech, fan operates. Checked power and ground to Radiator fan. Found Pin 1RD to have 200mV drop to the battery with the fan running on full and Pin 2BK to the battery to have 150mV drop with the fan running at full. Removed air box and checked ground point G009A, found to be tight and clean. Checked and found power, 13.8V at pins 3 and 4. Contacted Alfa Romeo. Found that the code is being stored incorrectly. No fault is with the Fan only communication between fan module and engine control module. A software fix is in the development to rectify this concern. Will notify owner when available.

Glad to hear you got those issues resolved. How long was it at the dealer for?

OK I know several of us has been wanting to find a way to permanently deactivate the Auto Start Stop. I had my Monza Exhaust that I purchased from Madness Autoworks installed yesterday morning (It's fantastic and I will start a separate thread on that later). The first thing the mechanic did was open the hood and all the techs was looking at it. Well a couple of things happen after they installed the exhaust; 1st I got the tire low indication and it showed my driver rear tire psi was at 31, it had been on a lift for about a hour. The 2nd was the Start Stop system failure light came on. Really no big deal to me cause I was already late for a meeting, so I drove off. This was the first time either of these indicators had come one. So throughout the entire day every time I started the vehicle I received these 2 indicators and I never once had to push the Auto start stop button. I did try pushing it a couple times just to see if the indicator went off but nothing happen. I made 6 different stops during the day. Well when I got home last night I had noticed that the hood on the passenger side was not closed all the way. The mechanic had not closed it and I did not notice it during the day. So I lightly pushed on the hood and closed it completely. Guess what? The start stop system failure indicator went off. So I took it for a drive and didn't press the Auto start stop button and upon stopping the car shut off. Now I have also tried to duplicate this by opening the hood and closing it and leaving the passenger side open slightly but it did not trigger the Start Stop system failure light. Now I have not tried leaving my hood open for an extended period of time like they did. So maybe that might be a way of tricking the the Auto Start stop is thru the hood latch? It was nice going all day without having to push that button every time.

I had the same issue today, and it is indeed the hood latch. You just have to make sure that both sides of the hood are fully locked. As soon as I did that, error was gone.

Auto stop/start light warning

I had the problem and figured it was related to the passenger side hood closing. The dealership made a quick adjustment, and the "problem" has disappeared. I was told the auto start/stop light becomes disengaged whenever the hood is open, so a mechanic cannot be inadvertently injured while working on the car.

Even after the dealer servicing and updating software yesterday, the issue of AutoStart Stop not operative warning (and stuck in N mode) came back today. I will try and open/close the hood to see, but at the moment it is shut properly and warning lights still on.

start/stop unavailable and check engine light on

I've had same issue but unfortunately my car hasn't been fixed in more than 2 weeks. It's still with dealer, service department and they are saying they don't know when it will get fixed. I've had to take it to dealership 3 times already for various reasons and now with this issue, I just don't know what to do. Has anyone had to go through the same trouble and frustration? I wish I could get out of the lease which if I could i would get out in blink of an eye and never get Alfa Romeo again especially with the dealership I leased this car with. I haven't even driven 2 weeks properly and it has less than 1000 miles in it.

I feel for you but I think you should reach out to "Alfa Premium Care" and see if they can help you...Perhaps a different dealer sounds like the solution....D
