LED HEADLAMPS- GIULIA/STELVIO

Not available to order yet. In due time we will have more info.

Email: [email protected]

-Time will tell but the wire harnesses are the same. Might need some rewiring to get most functions to work. No idea yet!

- Pricing not set yet and hope to have a solid price in the new weeks.

- ETA on headlamps is not set yet but we expect them in the next 2-3 months but due to headlamp shortages already, let's shoot for 6-8 months

- Once lamps are available, payment will be required in full. If you do not, you loose your spot in line for these lamps.

Thank you

My biggest concern with the LED lights is their ability to melt snow and ice while driving in NE USA winter weather. Any information on that yet Jason? TIA

None. All a guessing game right now. Me thinks there might be some wire pins that will make some functions not work.

I’m good as long as basic functions work like low/high beam and turn signals. I have no interest in the matrix full capability. Time will tell I have high hopes for this. Thanks for pioneering this possible retrofit.

What other tech is there to add on top of what we have now? The current lights swivel, and have auto high beams; and may even auto level (can't remember). But what else can they add?

I’m doing it if it’s possible for styling. As far as tech they are way more advanced. Type in

Adaptive Matrix Headlights in YouTube to see just how advanced they are. I am just looking to get basic function out of them because they look great in my opinion. I’m sure it will be a bit harder to get the full matrix adaptive capabilities beyond just basic function on older model Giulia. This is just my opinion and speculation.
We will figure it out once they get here.

Found this link online. That's pretty cool I guess, but I've never felt my current lights are lacking

Wasn‘t interested in them at first.
But after seeing this… 🤔
It was really quick, but did they get rid of the sequential turn signal? It looks like the entire DRL/turn signal illuminated at the same time. That sucks if so. A previous video showed them lighting sequentially.
Ok, So new catalog up but can't order yet.

Ballast but not required, hence the X on it.

This is going to blasphemous, but to me these new headlights, combined with the scudetto V, look like a moose; I suppose that's no worse than the current beaver shaped formed by the V and qv hood vents 🤣
Slightly off topic, but has anyone had a look at the 35W NAFTA spec headlights to see if they have autoleveling motors?
The wiring diagram shows just this at the headlight (premium headlights)
Rectangle Font Slope Parallel Plot

I find this pretty strange given that there is only 1 bulb for high and low beams (some Euro spec cars have separate bulbs with halogen headlights). The LIN BUS comes from the autolevel module. My car apparently has the autolevel module (MES can talk to it).
Note that a lot of functionality is possible via the LIN BUS but of course the other end of the LIN BUS needs to talk the same language as the headlight (re: LED headlights).

The high beam driver, low beam driver, DRL driver and fault sense wires go to the BCM.

Note 9 pins shown, numbered from 1 to 14. I do not know if there are 5 unused pins on the connector or what. Here is the connector diagram:

It indicated that various pin combinations are used for various options:

The diagram also shows wiring for front fog lamps on all models. Hmmm, I wonder if it really is there. Maybe the diagram that Mopar sold me is "preliminary" and does not reflect reality? Some of the above makes no sense to me, so take any of it with a grain of salt.

@Alfissimo actually #3 is headlight control unit, one for each headlight. and it should be required - not sure why X is there. without it headlight won't even light up.
also LED headlights will use front/rear headlight height sensors. doesn't say anything if those will be required for US.

went through part catalogue and seems like they changed how headlights will be connected - was hoping they will use similar design as on Maserati but they didn't.

@lockem wiring is correct. it's just stupid way how they show it - it shows all possibilities on connector at the same time hence some pins using different signals. it would be easier if they just showed separate pinout for halogen, 25W, 35W but it is as it is. I've seen worse :D

Yes, yes yes....it is. Excuse me I was not thinking straight here. X I have seen before but I cannot remember the meaning, possibly it means it comes with complete lamp.

Maybe it's too soon for this thread. I think I am going to pull it tomorrow and when they are finally available to order I will get a pair in and experiment. For now, nothing available. Period. No idea when or if they will work. They use the same plug but pins might be different and not sure on coding yet either.

Time will tell. We will figure out the retrofit if it's worth the effort of not.

When the 2020 shift knobs came out, people said it couldn't be done, but lo and behold, when there's a will, there's a way. I have full confidence alfisti can do this!

Yeah, I do as well but I am not jumping to conclusions yet. I think they will work fine but some functions won't work at all.
