Julia is coming home Friday.
My experience test driving it was out of this world. The sensation it gave me dwarfs what I got from my first real motorbike (2004 Kawasaki 636, a hooligan machine). Sooo sooo primal. The sound, the shifts. Even the brakes didn’t bother me that much. Everyone whines about them; wasn’t that hard to come to a limo stop.
I could not not buy it. My logical trader self tells me this will become a classic. Having said that , I Have some questions for you guys.
1)what’s the best exhaust valve open module. The alfissimo one looks good. This machine needs the valves always open, except when rolling into your hood. I like to keep my neighbors as allies….
2)is there a way to permanently disable the front splitter (shit roads/snow) coming down?
3)anyone running tires with larger than OEM sidewall (235 I think it is)? Would like to close the height gap (my late 2017 has higher springs) and a bit more comfort on these roads won’t bother me…

On #2, if you have in N or A mode, the front splitter does not drop. I'm not sure if there is a way to disable it for D and Race. You do have to be going like over 70 mph for it to drop in D or Race mode.

Congrats and Welcome to the dark side!
1 - You can't go wrong with the Alfissimo module, and I think some have even wired it to one of the buttons for the garage door opener, press a button and it opens/closes the exhaust valves.
2 - As @EricW pointed out, you have to be in those modes or going faster thank 100km/h (since you are Canadian) for it to drop down. I wouldn't recommend driving faster or in those modes during winter time especially, unless you have really good winter tires.
3 - It comes with 35 series front and 30 series rear. Sure you can go to a slightly fatter tire, but that will offset your speed reading, may impact how the abs works, etc. I would try to stick to the overall wheel/tire diameter as factory. What you can do is go down to 18" rims that will allow you to go to a slightly fatter sidewall tire while maintaining the overall diameter.

BTW, it's not Julia, it's Giulia! Sorry had to correct that!

Smart. Didn’t know this
Any exhaust upgrades that would make it sound meaner with open valves but civilised when closed?

Get the resonator cut out, replace with either X pipe or straight pipe. I believe the consensus is the straight pipe is a bit louder than X pipe. I have the X pipe currently and it sounds so much better than factory, but may exchange that for the straight pipe just to see if there is any difference. Once valves are closed, both would be more tamed.
Congrats!! Congrats!! They are a blast!
exciting, enjoy it in good health. regarding your tire question, I run 265 and 295 in the rear and it fills the space well and looks great (Michelin PS4s)

How do you like the 265's, are they mounted on stock 8.5" front wheels?

What are your impressions on turn-in, rotation, steering feedback/weight?

Thanks! What sidewall ?
Thanks! What sidewall ?
There's not much room in the well for a taller tire.
Welcome to the late 2017 QV club:)
How much did you pay?
Just shy of 50k usd.
i had to jump on it, they don’t come up often, and imo they will be harder and harder to find

1. i have the forza exhaust valve controller. paid around $390 i think including tax shipping and around $200 to get it installed. nothing but good things to say.

2. not sure

3. if you want a slight drop with maintaining close to the same spring rate, buy the ST springs. they are around ~350 and IMO is the perfect drop. myself, and many other forum members have them and i have no regrets. stock tire sizing is 245/285. you can run 255/295 on OEM wheels with no issue. i have 255/295 Michelin P4S. no rubbing. if you want a lower drop, you can go with a custom coilver kit (3-4k) or Eibach springs, but then you'll have to be extremely careful. the OEM active aero front splitter scrapes very easily and is around 3k to replace.
