hi all,

just picked up the car on Sunday... loving it... ti sport rwd with LSD white/tan and staggered 19

noticed a few things that wanted to see if it's normal...

on a slight inclined when stopped, after i get on the gas to get out of the start/stop feature, the car would roll back for a few sec (similar to driving a manual) to the point where it would activate the parksense screen (i guess it rolled back far enough to the car behind me)...

back up camera would become slightly out of focus

rubbing when turning at slow speed... (i read other posts stating that's normal... but it's just odd)

overall I'm really happy with the car...

Turn the start/stop off; it's nothing but a pain. When you say "rubbing", are you saying the tires are rubbing? There shouldn't be any rubbing at any speed.

Welcome to the forum and a great car!

that rubbing is a known 'feature'. It's the torque vector steering and should only happen at full lock at low speeds

Enjoy! :)

Ah... thanks...

a few more issues...

passenger side door tend to stick a little and requires a push after it's unlocked.

nav screen won't load & rebooted itself today around noon..

i guess this car is like a lot of pretty girls, high maintenance..

I imagine you probably hate to take it in right away, but probably a return to the dealer service is in order. What model year is your car? Tell the dealer about the problem and ask them to check if any Technical Service Bulletins or Rapid Response Transmittals apply your car. As you probably know, the nav screen should load and operate properly, and possibly the door issue is as simple as a lube or lock alignment adjustment.

Take it in for the Nav issue for sure. The infotainment system on the Giulia is very "high-maintenance." Don't expect the dealer or Alfa "cares" to necessarily have an answer. You will have to make suggestions. Get them from this forum. One suggestion is to "reset" the system. While there mention the passenger door. It likely needs lube as someone suggested--it could have been sitting on the lot for a while.

The back up camera is SD analog, so at best it is a bit blurry. The camera lens is also poorly protected from weather and prone to getting moisture and frost on it, grossly distorting the view.

With my Pirelli Centurato tires on my Q4 I only notice a scrubbing sound when the steering is at full lock. Others with summer tires report popping noises. IIRC, the staggered setup comes with summer tires, but it takes a few hundred miles to get full traction from new tires. In either case the sound should be the result of the tires binding against each other through traction on the pavement and the sound should only be present at or very near full lock.

Hello afterdark88,

Although we're happy to hear you're enjoying your new Giulia, we apologize for any inconvenience you're experiencing with it. Feel free to send us a direct message if you decide to have this looked at by the dealership. We'd be glad to help.

going to the dealer to have the door look at first...

sort of got used to the slow turning "feel"

back up camera would go out of focus if you start backing up & turn.. the image would have ghosting effect on objects and would return to normal once you straighten it out..

car still rides smooth! but it's really hard to keep the turbo under boil in the break in period!.

and this car def needs just a tad more sound from the exhaust!
