It amazes me that for a car of this caliber and price the inside panel that runs down the windshield is always popping up. I have to snap it back into place every few weeks. Today it happened on the passenger side. Bad enough when I'm alone. But when my passenger had to pop it into place and questioned the quality of the car and remarked for an Italian made car..... I had no defense and was slightly imbarrested.

Are you talking the "A" pillar? I can't remember any posts talking about loose or broken interior trim, nor rattles for that matter. Maybe you have a broken piece or something not snapped in right? As all these cars are still under warranty this seems like a good reason to bring it in and have it looked at.

I sent a text to my sales guy about it. He said he would talk to the service department and see what can be done. But since it isn't happening regularly not sure what they would do? If I leave it to show them the next time it happens I'm guessing they would snap it back like I do. Will see what he says.

Take a video with your phone when it happens. This is the first time I've heard of such a thing.

In all likelihood, the dealer will fix and you will be on your way.

If OP is talking about the A pillar; my car came with the A pillar trim already loose / popped off. I could not pop it back into place myself. The interior hooks / glue / whatever was replaced soon after I received the car.

Then the glue failed again and had to be replaced a second time. This time it hasn't come undone, but the A pillar trim has some bulging to its shape.

I would take a photo and post it but I don't know if you can? Seems my issue isn't quite as bad as yours is Julian. I am guessing it's the A pillar? Have no idea what that is but sounds about right. It's the panel that runs from roof down to dash by windshield.

My drivers side pops loose about once every other week or so. I just pop it back on. Told dealer, just shrug shoulder and go on.

A pillar is what you described. B pillar is the one between the two doors (or behind the doors in a 2-door), and C pillar is the one that goes from the rear windshield/roof to the back of the car :)

As for the trim, I haven't had any issues with mine. Definitely get it repaired under warranty! I even stuck a hardwire radar detector wire inside the trim and it didn't come loose.

The A pillar snaps into place- at the top, and there should be nothing wedged underneath it. If the door seals are rolled underneath it will pop out. Notice how I can get my finger underneath it- the seal sits over it. There's no glue holding it in place.

IIRC my car had a pinched seal under it from the factory.they probably put the door seals in 1st, before the A pillars.

It's definitely not worth the day it will take to bring it back to the dealer to have them address this.

OTOH, if yours is like this, and it's still coming out the panel is defective. How, I have no idea. It's actually a very simple piece.

Sorry to hear about the problem. I can’t say that I have experienced this. However, if it were happening to my vehicle, I’d have it back at the dealer for a warranty replacement of the panel.

Assuming typical construction (plastic retainers), each time the part pops out and is pushed back in the snap that holds it in gets a bit more worn and will not hold as well. Metal spring retainers hold up better but cost and weigh more.

Do you use a windshield sun reflector? That can direct a lot of heat onto the A pillar covers if the reflector does not sit flush against the windshield at the edges. The A pillar covers in my pickup truck melted due to this (still secure though).

Do you have an infrared windshield (comes bundled with the lane departure warning)?

I have the infrared windshield and have not had any problems with the A pillar covers.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like I took photos of how my A-pillar was popped off. It was windshield-side where it could not be reseated. I believe the interior hooks were broken and/or no longer attached? The service center had to order a number of parts.

After the third time I had the A-pillar fixed, this attached photo is the best they decided they could do at getting it straight. At least it's attached! When it's not, you can't see much of the windshield black mask.

I gave up at this point because this was just a small part of my car having spent two months at this service center. And as I discovered, Alfo Romeo will not pay for a different service center to perform repairs on issues a first service center caused.
