After reading various threads, I wanted to see if someone can confirm what the latest version of the infotainment software approved for 2017 US Giulia's.

I currently have a 2017 Giulia Q4 Ti with the following Infotainment Version: 002.009.043

What is version 002.009.055? If it is the latest, has it been released in the US and what bugs/features were addressed in this new version?

Thanks for any details and guidance!

002.009.055 (same in Europe and USA) is the latest afaik (for 2017 models)
No major changes from previous version, except that the crackling on playback music via iPhone has been fixed.....

Thanks for the info! Is the previous version 002.009.043 or was there something in between?

I will try to use my iPhone to see if I hear any crackling on music playback.

Since 2018's are out, is there any hope that additional changes will be added to the infotainment for 2017 models? (e.g. message response for iPhones, use of the touchpad, additional options for leaving the infotainment on after the car has been turned off (Immediately or 20 minutes))

Nothing in between.

Re additional changes, your guess is as good as mine ;)

re on/off, this is already a setting on the connect, see :

Anyone know if the MY2017 vehicles will ever get/have gotten the update that increases the size of the backup camera footage?
I think the issue you’ll have is the hardware is technically different. I’ve read up all I can and I haven’t found any info on MY17s getting updated to the latest versions.

fwiw.... I have a MY18 QV that isn’t eligible for upgrades based on the sales code assigned to my vehicle. It’s pathetic, I don’t even get the update that extends the number of radio presets you can store past 7. To the best of my knowledge and research, my issue isn’t hardware related. It’s just Alfa being Alfa.

I don’t think Alfa intends to upgrade folks unless they have to. IE the tsb for the software update isn’t specifically to update the software, but to alleviate infotainment restarts.

Theoretically, if you’re experiencing restarts and they can’t apply the update (incompatible hardware or sales code outside the range of the TSB) they’d have to replace your radio and do all other feasible updates.

I have what I believe is the latest MY17 infotainment SW (.059), but really couldn’t say if it changed the backup camera. Not sure I’d notice a difference.

Unfortunately there are no functional improvements, it (059 which is indeed latest for nafta) just solves the reboot issues caused by satellite radio.....
Seems all development is only happening for the "new" hardware.....

Yes, see
infotainment updates

Though note it is not the latest for Nafta (does not solve the satellite radio reboot issue, for that you would need 002.009.059.)
Also note as mentioned in the above site, if you're updating from a version 001.xxx.xxx , you would also need to update maps as minimum, which could be problem for Nafta.
Coming from earlier versions of 002.xxx.xxx maps remain intact, so no problems in that case.

Just take it to the dealer and tell them you are having reboot issues and BT connectivity issues and ask them to update. When mine was updated from .055 to .059, there were also 4-5 other co-requisite updates required. Why take a chance in screwing it up?

I tried that and it didn't work. They couldn't reproduce the issue so they didn't update

Crappy dealer. Intermittent issues are hard to replicate by definition! But when they’ve been so widely reported that Alfa releases updates to address, they should just fix it based on you reporting the issue. My reboots happened like once a month over a 10 minute span, what are the chances the dealer could ever replicate? Did you try and raise through @AlfaRomeoCares? They were helpful in validating the fix applied to my VIN, and contacted the dealer to initiate the work.

I did and they said I'd have to pay for it if the dealer couldn't replicate since it wouldn't be a warranty issue. The dealer never even gave me that option though

I had the reboot issue and my dealer didn't even question it as that is one of the issues resolved with the most recent updates. Shitty dealer you have!
