How hard do you drive your 2.0T Giulia?

As the title states, I’d like to get a general idea of how you guys are driving your cars? I drive my car daily and it sees full load/boost and redline multiple times daily. I always wait until it’s warmed up on the temp gauge. But I use dynamic mode and paddles often and run the car through its paces often.

My car gets driven a couple of times a week. I drive in D once the car is warm, but not in any extreme fashion. No paddles.

I drive mine as hard as I can. From a stoplight I try to get to 60 as fast as I can. Which takes just seconds.

Triple digit speeds are easy over here as the speed limit is triple digits on highways....in km/h ;)

Every single time I go for a drive, I push it all the way in 1st, 2nd and 3rd if traffic allows. I use Normal until it gets up to 3 bars at least, then flip it to Race. I barely use Dynamic at all.

I take turns and accelerate faster than most cars. But I don`t do anything reckless like speeding a lot. The 2.0L is a fun daily driver but its not a fast car by any means.

I generally stay within 5-10mph of the speed limit, but in corners/turns I generally go fast and even get the tail out at least once a day lol.

Just hit Mulholland here in LA and was definitely out squealing the tires, but only in portions with good visibility where I can see there's no bikers/dogs/traffic ahead.

These cars LOVE being chucked around. Go kart/10 😁

Yeah and combined with the turbo lag down low I rarely actually floor the car from a stop. It just doesn't have the sensation a proper 6 cyl car will.

This car is about turning with sports car reflexes.
I made a Wegmans run with my brother (who still reminisces about his Subaru Forester XT) today. He said “let’s see what this thing’s got”, so I did a little burst from 10 mph to about 50. It was so smooth and effortless, I don’t think it was that impressive (although that no drama nature is one of the qualities that makes the Giulia impressive to me).

My biggest accelerations tend to be highway transitions, where I can put a bunch of traffic behind me. Red Hill Parkway Niagara-bound QEW on Friday was fun. Lincoln Alexander Parkway to Highway 403 west later this week will be fun, too. In local traffic, hard acceleration just gets me to the next red light sooner.

And this is what the owner of the Quadrifoglio says???
It's like buying professional competition running shoes and only wearing them at Walmart!
Dude, buy yourself a Prius and drive in the right lane on the highway

Some of you need to tune your 2.0 Giulias….really wakes the car up

that Along with a go-pedal….amazing…simply put.

One day ill reach for a hybrid turbo and make a smooth 370hp

until then ill enjoy 0-60 in 4.2 seconds…..which is right on par with a Carrera 4S cabriolet and ferrari F430 F1

Years ago, I used to track our cars a lot, drag racing, all that. Learned a lot from my experience, and some pro instruction. I think the best thing one can learn on a track is one's personal "limits." There are a few winding roads near me, where there is sufficient forward visibility to ensure no one is coming out of their driveway, or rolling thru a stopping, where I enjoy my QV's cornering and handling prowess. I never use Race, as my aging abilities are not sufficient anymore to react to my car about to go off road into the SC trees. I want the safe net of my D driving. I don't think I have ever hit my car's redline, either. The only place I use full throttle is driving thru then accelerating and merging out of Interstate rest stops.

I grew up on British sports cars, TR's, MG's and the like, while my friends had Muscle cars. So I learned that my own maximal enjoyment wasn't raw power, but svelte, precision handling.

I do use all of my now 40+K mile '18 QV's performance envelope, but I don't do dumb (to me) things on the road. My prior two cars were a 427 Superformance Cobra, and a GT3, so I have some experience with superb driver's cars. But I have no desire to damage my Alfa or cause injury to myself or others by hyper aggressive street driving. I have friends who killed themselves when driving beyond their and their car's limits.

Pure power is nice, but carving a perfect line thru a safe corner is sublimely satisfying to me; always has been. Driving a 500 hp, 2000 pound car with a short wheelbase will teach one judicious use of a car's limits pretty quickly. j

Have fun, but be safe... NV

I agree, but it was not necessary to talk about the police:кофе:

But somehow, necessary to tell me to buy a Prius. Not sure where you are from, but where I live, triple digit speeds are considered reckless with automatic jail time, car impounded, and possibly (likely) loss of drivers license.
But hey, to each their own. if you can afford such complications, be my guest. I'll spend my money at the Walmart parking lot, AKA the track... triple digit speeds all day long

I drive like a normal person in traffic, slightly quicker than the average driver around me. I use the paddles & dynamic mode a lot but after everything is up to temperature and the shifts smooth out. On a twisty backroad though I drive as fast as I can see, at least until I catch someone else(-_-). Not trying to hit wildlife/cyclists/people at their mailboxes. Fast but safe to sum it up.

My job has a 1.5 mile access road though so I open it up on there daily, but the road is not smooth enough to really stretch it's legs without getting sketchy.

I tend to be about 5 mph above the speed limit on the freeway but otherwise drive grandma-like in this car as a daily. It has always felt like any other car. I had to work late one night and there is this odd freeway onramp near my work that has a tight s-curve before it straightens out as you merge. I was in "a mood" after working super late for the millionth time in a row, there was no traffic so I threw it in sport and took the ramp as fast as I could because "Kickstart My Heart" was taunting me from the stereo.

I was AMAZED at how it hooned through that ramp, the speed it carried, and how it transitioned through the direction changes at that pace. HUZZAH! Now I get what you and the magazines are talking about. Had it for two years and never challenged it. It likes challenges. Who knew?
