I have been reading many posts on this subject and I have come down to three alternatives as follows:

1. Do nothing and wait to get stopped

2..Purchase the Alpha 9 kit

3. Purchase the Pruning kit

I your opinion, which is the better kit to purchase? Please advise.

I am currently going with option 1. 2 months for me so far. Will see how yhings go when I go to the West side of the state next weekend.

Option 1. Agreed, even when I was stopped last weekend, front plate was on the list but my forgotten inspection was the real cause and concern. Cop gave me a warning and said "Cool car, get it inspected." I showed him my plate and said I was figuring out how to mount it. When I zip tied it for the inspection, it was setting off the parking sensors on the way home. Ferraris for 5 years. No issues with front plate, but maybe inspections this year.

Alfa9 is closest to bumper. Centerline was quickest to remove. Don't know about the other one. I played the game for 2 days and was pulled over, but I might play again this summer.

Depends on state, depends on preferences

Front License Plate - Summary / Recommendation

I spent a substantial amount of time trying to figure out what to do about the front license plate issue here in Massachusetts, where aggressive sports cars will be targeted by local police who are looking for revenue. So no plate is no good.

I thank all of the forum members who have provided loads of guidance in the following threads:

http://www.giuliaforums.com/forum/385-exterior/2874-front-license-plate-u-s-cars.html

http://www.giuliaforums.com/forum/5...o-giulia-today/22482-front-license-plate.html

http://www.giuliaforums.com/forum/3...table-front-license-plate-relocation-kit.html

http://www.giuliaforums.com/forum/2...discussion/31953-placement-license-plate.html

and others.

I investigated many of the available tow-hole plate solutions, including

(a) the Rho-Plate v2 from Progressive Auto Products in British Columbia, Canada. This is the one available from Alfa9supply for ~$99.

(b) the WSA-Auto which is branded Extreme Online Store, available on eBay for ~$50.

(c) the GMG Motorsports No Holes plate, available on eBay and Amazon for ~$90

(d) a model that my dealer claimed was Alfa Romeo OEM

(e) the Flex Mount from Dynamic Technology Group for ~$75

The OEM brand, when I saw it on the Giulia appeared to situate itself very far from the bumper, so that choice was immediately discarded. The remaining 4 all appear to be able to change angles to become parallel with the bumper. And they all appear to be liberally adjustable both up and down and left and right. You can install them away from the cameras and sensors.

The only concern I had was how close would they be to the bumper? Some looked longer than others, and it was tough to tell.

In the final analysis, I chose the Rho v2 by Alfa9Supply in part because of stellar reviews. I received it within a day or two of ordering, and am happy to report (after it being installed by my dealer on Purchase Day) that the plate sits no more than 3/4 to one inch safely away from the bumper, and looks fantastic. While it might have been installed a fraction of an inch or so too high, I've determined that I'll leave well enough alone.

So, as reported by me and many of the other posters on this forum, this license plate holder was a winner.

Thanks again to all who helped advise.

Front License Plate - Summary / Recommendation

I spent a lot of time doing research and following the posts here, including:

http://www.giuliaforums.com/forum/385-exterior/2874-front-license-plate-u-s-cars.html

http://www.giuliaforums.com/forum/2...discussion/31953-placement-license-plate.html

and others. I am not willing to have my car go plateless when the rules call for it.

And after having viewed, analyzed, and studied 5 tow-hole plate kits, I also went with the Rho plate v.2 which is the one sold by Alfa9Supply. This plate ends up parallel to the bumper, and comes out maybe 3/4 to one inch forward of the bumper, so it does not interfere with your warning systems. After having seen what my dealer said was an Alfa Romeo OEM model, which stuck 3 or more inches in front of the car, I was convinced that the Alfa9 device was the most flexible solution. And so it was - installed at no charge by the dealer, it is an elegant solution to our common problem.

Good luck, and thanks to all the previous posters for their help.

what is funny is my dealer refused to install the Alfa 9 plate.

I forgot the reason though.

Haha, that's weird. maybe they just wanted to skip the inspection? I will go with Centerline if necessary because I like the idea of plastic next to my bumper paint, not metal. In fact, if we do get tapped, the dang hardware is going to gouge us anyway. Perish the thought, but I'll get one if I have to. Hope the points aren't bad in MA. I'll use the "just at a show" or "fouls up sensors" excuse again next time. I keep it in the car.

Thank you for your input. I am going with #1 but if I get stopped, I will purchase the Alpha9 as many of you have recommended.

I'm also going with option 1 for the time being. Will see how long I can last. As a plan B I have ordered the cruiser accessories mounting plate from Amazon. If my mind changes I will zip tie that that to the front grill and mount the plate on it. In my opinion the tow hook mounted plate holders look terrible on the car.

My logic is the following, if you give them a reason to pull you over (missing license plates), then they will pull you over. If you have them installed, you may get lucky and they will let you go or not come after you.
