I attended a track day at the FMOS track event at The Ridge Motorsports track in Washington state yesterday. Brought my White Quadrifoglio and got to track it for most of the day. To start off positive, the car is amazing on the track, but the following happened towards the end of the day.

7/26/2017 @ 4pm….ish– Track day stall @ 90 mph mid corner and continued random throttle hesitation back to the pits until car was shut off and key was removed for 5 minutes. Fuel tank was half full, no warning lights flashed on the dash. Car was in “dynamic” mode. Instructor was in the car with me and verified that there were no fault lights on. He also felt the complete loss of power and random hesitation until car was shut off in the pits once off track.

7/26/2017 @ 5pm….ish – Freeway stall @ 30 mph in traffic going straight with complete shutdown. No warning lights flashed on the dash. Fuel tank was full at this point with about 30 minutes of driving after fill up, approximately 30 miles. Car was in “Advanced Efficiency” mode. Car would start and run for about 2 seconds and then shut off, ignition would remain on. Called the dealer, service tech advised me to try a battery ground disconnect. I did this, very easy as it has a quick disconnect. This brought up all of the check lights until every system did it’s check, wheel from lock to lock, reverse, brakes, throttle etc. Car started and got me home with no problems. Got home and noticed that the exhaust baffles were in the “open” mode while car was in “A” mode. Turned the car to “race” mode to verify the baffles were open, car sounded the same.

Dealer is aware of the problems, as they were there at the track with me. Once i'm back from vacation we are having it towed to the dealer for diagnoses. I'm waiting to have it towed until we get back just so i can be there to communicate the events in person. The car is currently parked in my garage until then.

Very unfortunate as i had full faith in my cars reliability. I'm hoping that they can lock down the problem and get it repaired.

Very disconcerting.....Hopefully just an update issue...I took my car in today (have had ZERO issues) to my dealer for 3 updates and a couple of "recall" issues (amplifier encased in a case- no evidence of water according to tech) and to check the hose clamp....currently have 2400 miles....D

Andrea, I still haven't heard from any case managers. Car will be towed tomorrow to the dealer for diagnoses and repair.

Got my car back! Turns out it was low fuel pressure. Something to do with the computer recognizing low fuel pressure and shutting the car down. They did an update and drove the car for 200 miles with no issues. My wife will no longer drive it now.... i'm not too mad about that!

Good to be back cruising in the Quadrifoglio! Now i just need new tires, get the rubber off of the wheel wells and clean the brake pads, they make a "rough" sound now from the track day.

Glad all is well! What was done to prevent this in future?

Running the car with low fuel (under 1/4 tank) at the track is a known issue. Im unsure there is any software resolution to this yet. Once below 1/4 of a tank the CEL can fire and the car reverts to N mode. It needs a reset or some time to reset itself. Most of us using the car at the track have learnt to keep the tank filled above this limit. Not sure why it happens but its obviously designed to protect the engine and I suspect the electronics are a bit conservative in this regard...
