$10,000 USD package with no carbon fiber roof -- that couldn't be confirmed when I ordered, I guess that it's gone. Any photos of the gold calipers? Love the gold stitching as well.
This is a 100th Anniversary collectors edition car. This is not meant for a track-day buyer. So, CF roof and Sparcos don't really fit the crowd. This is another garage queen, not really for HPDE.It all seems a little silly. I mean, I like it, but no carbon roof or carbon seats? Those are some of the most special things about this car. I'm sure the interior pops a little more with that stitching but it seems like Alfa is leaving a lot on the table here. Add 20 horsepower, add every carbon option and then it might be pretty epic.
I think you are totally right. I suspect from the occasional conversations I have had that 'carbon' in general has been an issue affecting production delays, and so the approach has been to ramp-down use of optional carbon components. If I was purchasing a 100th Anniversary edition it would really annoy me, but the reality is the lack of a carbon roof probably has no effect on the enjoyment of driving the car. I don't think this special edition is anywhere near as special as an N-Ring but it is still a desirable car. Given the 100 car limit I'm just a bit surprised they haven't numbered the cars like they did with N-Ring and GTA. That would have encouraged the perception of collectability...It all seems a little silly. I mean, I like it, but no carbon roof or carbon seats? I don't really see any of those things being super important to someone tracking the car. I've tracked the regular seats before and they're perfectly suitable for track duty. The carbon roof is more novelty than anything. No one is going to notice a 20 lb weight saving on the roof in a 3800 lb car. This is a 100th Anniversary collectors edition car. Sparcos and carbon roof are part of the lifestyle projection. Most sports cars are not tracked, but they come with accessories that ooze track day. The GTAm is a great example. Most will probably never be pushed, but the roll cage and wing are part of the mystique. @REDGTA is the exception.I don't really see any of those things being super important to someone tracking the car. Has the arch been scuffed/scraped along with an amateur job of repairing it.... or was it your camera 📷 🤔 .
It was my camera, or in this case my phone...Has the arch been scuffed/scraped along with an amateur job of repairing it.... or was it your camera 📷 🤔 .
Wouldn't say no to it either way...
I think that was sarcasm, but not positive lol. Visually, the carbon roof is very special. I'm talking exposed. I said a couple posts down that the performance difference is meaningless. Also, US anniversary edition cars get no power increase.Really?. Carbon roof and carbon seats one of the most special things on a QV? I certainly feel a big difference in the driving of the QV with carbon roof and without carbon roof. Big difference. It's like day and night. It's so different than people need to use a magnet to see it. This is a Special Edition car. Only 100 Giulias will be produced this way. And please remember that it is boosted to 520hp.
The carbon fiber roof is more of a performance gain than you think. You're only focused on the weight savings. Removing weight from the highest part of the car lowers its center of gravity. That is very desirable to those who track their cars.I think that was sarcasm, but not positive lol. Visually, the carbon roof is very special. I'm talking exposed. I went to my Alfa dealer and he told me I needed to lost 30 lbs... not a true story but you get my point...The carbon fiber roof is more of a performance gain than you think.
