Hello.

It seems as we just passed 1,000 miles on our QV a gremlin has appeared.

On the passenger side, the headlamp washer is popping out on its own and will not stay in place. We can push it back in so it’s flush with the bumper but it inevitably ends up sticking out a bit.

Anyone else have this issue?

@407Guy...Sorry Brother old news..common...some guys have the passenger side...I had the driver's side...
it is unfortunately a bad securing bracket located inside the bumper cover...cover needs to be removed and brackets replaced...had it done...no more issues.. @mc3456 & @kanundrum had the same thing happen
call your dealer have them order the cover as it needs to be painted....hopefully they can use the existing cover.so you don;t need to order a new one...mine just flew off :)

Many of us have had this issue...me included. The bracket that holds it on is apparently an issue. One or two Q owners have lost the cover.

The irony to all of this is my wife just completed the Alfa quality questionnaire last night; and this happens today.

:surprise:

And Your Moaning About a Headlight Washer Cap....

this just in from a Porsche owner on Ferrari Chat

yesterday I was driving my virtually new 2016 911TTS got on the interstate with lots of traffic had to slam on the brakes at high speed maybe 70mph AND both headlights came flying out of the car.. reminded me of the cartoon with the eyeballs popping out . I pull over to the side of the road and sure enough both headlights are dangling by wires on the front bumper . I picked them up and popped them back in ...
Strangest thing.. they just popped back in .

Pure comedy
would have been fun to watch from the side of the roadj

Looks like Hans forgot to tighten couple of headlight screws....yet press gives hard time only to Luigi for not being in the most productive and attentive mood on Monday morning :)

Pull the cover off so you don't lose them. They are easy to remove and can be popped on to the new washer arm brackets.

Any tips on how to pull them off without causing any damage? I am scheduled to bring my QV to the dealer on the 24th. I wasn't going to drive her until then for fear of having that piece fall off.

Thanks,
Steve

The covers are held on to the actual washer nozzles: each nozzle has two pegs sticking out on their sides, and the back of the cover has two brackets with holes for the pegs to go into.

Normally, they would be removed with the bumper off.

However, since the nozzles come out of the bumper when active and the covers clip onto the nozzles, the way I'd remove them is standing in front of the car, having someone in the car turn on the headlight washers, and gently pinch the nozzle with my fingers to prevent them from retracting. You can then gently detach the cover.

Edit: here's a picture showing the components.

Exactly! Not complicated to pop off. Just a little pressure on the two tabs to remove from the attachment pegs.
