I was told the opposite. The longer you wait, i.e. higher mileage, the more expensive it gets
True, but since the warranty starts from the day you buy it, if you buy it later, there is less overlap from the original warranty.
I just got a quote on my 2018 Stelvio with 48885 miles.
Original warranty runs out this November (or when I hit 50 k (which I will hit in about a month.)
For 5 yr 75k mile warranty the quote is $2776.
But that warranty starts when I buy it.
That extends the warranty to 2026 or 123,885 miles.

Not all of them start from the day you buy the warranty,so make sure you know what your getting..My 7 year 60k plan is 7 years from in service date and 60K total miles...not 7 years and 60k from plan purchase date ....so since I have a July of 2019 in service date and a vehicle with 10,000 miles on it, what I actually got is 5 more years or 50K more miles

I bought a 7/85 warranty meaning an extra 3 years after the original 4 end and an extra 37k miles.

True. According to Chryslerwarranty. Com
If you purchase a warranty extension prior to 36k miles or 3 years from in service date, the extended warranty runs concurrently with you factory warranty starting from in service date.
If you purchase after that, it starts on date of purchase, hence the jump in price for extended warranties purchased post 3 yr /36k.
