Hi guys,

I had a look on all the topics here around and found nothing about the electrical driver seat....

Am I the only one having issues with this seat?
Every time I stop the engine and opens the driver door, the seat moves backwards.... up to a point that "avoid" the person seated in the rear seat to get out, as her feet are trapped on the floor.

I asked the dealer, and he told me there is nothing that can be done!!

Sincerely, if this seat would stay at his place that would be great.

OK, I'm getting older and older but not at the point the seat should go backward to earn space for my belly to go out ?

This is really annoying ; I tried to reset readjust the memorized position, but with no success!!!

Hi,

Funny you should say this i have bought my giulia about 6 months ago, and when stop my engine and open my driver door my seat goes all the way back, but my dad has just got his giulia about a week ago and his seat dose not go all the way back? so i am a little confused so i am going to tell my dealer about this and see what they come up with.

Not an answer for you but at least your not the only one having the issue keep update if you come up with anything?

Thanks

Is your seat coming backward when opening the door?

Seat moves back depending on its position, if its forward of that position it moves back, if at that position or further back it does not move all the way back. For me being 6ft tall it does not.

It has been discussed before in this forum.

Mine moves back as well (I am 6 foot tall as well but have a bit more upper body height).
When the seat starts moving back, you can tap the seat forward adjuster and it will stop (so I have been told).
Hopefully they update this, and Stop|Start as a soft switch that you can program.

I'm 1.85 meters long and seat still moves a lot backwards....

Can you please find me the link of the previous discussion?
I haven't found it!

Different people even of the same height and proportions adjust the seat differently. Some folks think the "speedracer" posture is good, others like to be close enough to the control to have some control, while others like to have their legs stretched out but the steering wheel close (see "Vintage Alfa" thread).

Anyway, MacGeek reported that for MY2018 the courtesy seat slide back feature is removed. This probably accounts for the observation in post #2.

This feature impresses me as nice for the driver and potentially injurious to a rear seat passenger and/or rear seat cargo. I don't understand why it isn't more intelligent and/or controllable. Add a menu item in infotainment: enable, auto, disable. In auto it would not retract if rear seat occupancy is detected (I presume there is a rear seat occupancy detector in order to decide if seat belts need to be engaged or not).

I never did anything of the sorts.
Sorry, my mistake.

I was thinking of Dr. Klopek's post in the "Easy Exit- Drivers Seat" thread:

"I believe that Consumer Reports stated that Alfa was doing away with it for 2018."

I'm not sure about reliability of such information from Consumer Reports.

Tell your passenger to exit first. Problem solved. It's a good feature for people with arthritic hips and knees.

From the Alfa Manual :

EASY ENTRY FUNCTION
The Easy Entry function is designed to
retract the driver side seat automatically
by 2.36 in (60 mm) to make it easier for
the driver to get in and out of the car.
The movement is activated only if the
seat is set to a driving position which is in
front of the B pillar of the car.
The function is always active and
associated with electrically adjustable
front seats for each of the three stored
positions.

Activating entrance mode
With the door open and the starter device
at STOP, the driver side seat will be in a
position retracted by 2.36 in (60 mm)
with respect to the driving position set by
the user.
When the door is closed and the starter
device is in the ON position, the seat will
automatically return to the set driving
position.

NOTE If the seat is moved manually while
it is still in retracted position, it will
remain in the new set position when the
car is entered again.
Activating exit mode
In order to help the driver get out of the
car, the driver side seat will move back by
2.36 in (60 mm) when the starter device
is in STOP mode and the driver side door
is opened.

NOTE Pressing any button on the seat
memory or control panel will immediately
interrupt the automatic positioning
function (antipanic function). The
operation must be repeated to complete
the function.

My Giulia driver's seat has lost the easy access feature and I am not able to restore it.

Can someone translate this into a step by step 1, 2, 3 procedure?

Lucky you ;-)

If you ever restore it, please tell me how I can definitively inhibit this f####### function!
