I hated that when you turned the car off, the drivers seat would retract all the way back and then go forward when started. The other day I decided to vacuum my car out. I needed to move the seat forward so i pushed the ignition button with no foot on the brake to get the electric flowing. Engine not running. I vacuumed the carpet under the seat, adjusted it forward and vacuumed under the rear. put it back to close to my normal seating position, not all the way back. Next time I got out of the car, this is where it went to. Moved only a touch. Now it still goes to where I set it with the ignition on, engine not running. Try it! Solved my problem.

Only worked once for me... still experimenting

Love the idea, and got excited when it worked for me on the first try. Decided my “better position” wasn’t forward enough, and repeated the process (albeit within 2 minutes of the initial try) and had it revert to the all the way back after starter off positon. Drat.

Tomorrow, I will start with the process before I start the car for the first time, and see if it will work again and hold the positiion in my more forward adjustment. Stay tuned...

Been covered, 5 page discussion
From "Easy exit driver seat" http://www.giuliaforums.com/forum/393-interior/5714-easy-exit-driver-seat.html
"Did a test, reprogrammed 1 (1 did not move back for my driving position ) to be closer to steering wheel and seat moved back on exit, programed a little further back still moved back, then programed further back (but not all the way back) and seat no longer moved back. So my conclusion is it depends on where the seat is on exit."

The seat goes back approximately 50mm (2 inches) unless it is already very far back. I find that it does not go back far enough for me to be able to get in/out without scuffing my sport seat bolsters and have programmed one button to run the seat far back. Curiously this "extra motion" seems to make the mechanism happier as it sounds better now.

Anyway, you can hit any of the seat position controls to stop the seat from moving once it has started.
