A digital visualization of what could be in store if the Giulia is offered with a brown interior and wood trim.

Does it work?

Another thing that I think makes a big difference is the finish on the wood. Will it be high gloss or more of a matte and natural look?

I'm partial to matte more than the high gloss finish but once again, we won't really know until we've see the seat material as difference finishes goes with different textures.

Not sure if I am as much a fan of the wood on the actual steering wheel though. I think I prefer the steering wheel to be leather.

I thought dated, retro stuff was totally hip and cool right now?
Its a murky situation. You can try to do it ironically, but that doesn't work with a car like this. Other than that you would want to do something that is more "classic" instead "retro" or "dated". I also think the modern way of doing the classic look is keeping things simple and using more natural materials.

It's hard to pin down, but you can tell the difference between retro-hip and retro-dated.
