Hello fellow Alfa-neers (Pioneers. See what I did there?). So, I've ordered my V2 intake from Eurocompulsion but of course, it's on back order for two weeks which TOTALLY sucks but, it'll be worth the wait. I had to go with red because of I have the arrest-me-red Giulia and feel that black is a bit too plain for my liking. In addition, my local mechanic does custom exhaust work so, I've gotten with him to do a Resonator and Muffler delete aka, straight pipe all the way back. Pretty sure with the intake and straight pipe, the turbo should really be screaming. Also have the gopedal and an ecu mod. Question for all of you is.... Does anyone have any experience installing a blow off valve (BOV) or dump valve. Please critics, keep your opinions to yourself. This is my car and I know what I like so unless you have something constructive to say, keep it to yourself. I'd like to know if I can purchase a Greddy or HK BOV to install or does it need to be vehicle specific. Also, can someone tell me HOW to install it? Look forward to your comments. Once everything is complete, I'll be sure to attach a video and pictures.

It the reason you are asking about installing a BOV is so that you can hear hit it I would wait until you install the V2 intake. You really hear it when you spool the turbo up and then back off.

I was looking for noise but I’m also looking for a quality recirculating BOV that might out perform the stock BOV. But I may wait until the exhaust and intake are installed to see what my next move is. Do you have wheel spacers on ur Giulia?

Definitely wait, the V2 produces lots of noise. Eurocompulsion should be able to tell you if a better BOV is needed from stock.

No wheel spacers. The only thing I done outside of paint protection/ceramic coating and window tinting is the V2 Intake which I am amazed how much it adds to the fun. I would never have thought that an intake would add that much of a noticeable difference.

I already reached out to Eurocompulsion for BOV solution. Awaiting response from them. Hate that I have to wait for the intake but I’m ready for some Lolli’s. Help ease the pain from the Mrs. when she finds out. Haha. Thank you all for the input. Hoping to have a quality video uploaded in about a month, once I receive the intake.

I’m definitely a newbie when it comes to modifying a vehicle and also the cautious sort - so does installing the V2 intake void any of the Giulia’s warranties?

I find that the noise from the V2 intake is fairly subtle; like the Alfa/Milano snake hisses when you step on the accelerator.

Anyway, I've been prodding Eurocompulsion and Go Fast Bits to put something together. Nothing yet, but maybe something soon. At least one forum member had the OEM valve get stuck and cause the ECU to throw a cell, hopefully a GFB valve will be more reliable as well as improve responsiveness.

We are working with GFB on getting a hardware solution sorted out. Also i have reached out to forge also. Its just a matter of time and we will have a handful of solutions for guys who want to upgrade the DV.

Please check the rather lengthy V2 intake thread.

In the USA installing after market parts does not directly void the warranty on the rest of the vehicle. However, if the after market part directly damages something it can void the warranty on the parts that it damaged. One issue can be the interpretation of the later exception as in the extreme case an AR dealership could claim that the V2 intake makes the engine make more power which adds strain to the entire engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential, wheels, etc etc. Most dealerships will not play such shenanigans but some might.

OTOH, if something obvious happens like a hunk of the V2 filter tears loose and flies into the engine and damages it, it is unlikely that the issue would be covered by any warranty. However, I think the OEM filter is more likely to fail that way than the metal re-enforced filter EC has chosen.

what does the op want the diverter valve to do? they are functionally to maintain better boost control through the rev/boost range. I have a billet piece on my 930 turbo and it is a nice piece and it works well...it does not make any additional noise or wooshing turbo sounds.

Please, please, please go with Forge. I had their Gen1 BPV on my old Mazdaspeed3 back in the day and it sounded incredible! Like swords clanking when shifting.

I have a factory inter-cooler piping coming in over the weekend and will source the hardware ourselves at this point, I will have forge and GFB items available shortly. We are authorized dealers for both.

Give me a bit of time getting the misc hardware in but it will be available shortly.

Chris, please post a vid when you have the BPV/BOV installed with an intake. I am sure it is going to sound filthy (in the best way possible)!

Chris, did you ever complete this? I realized Jordan's car had the GFB installed. Will you bring this to market?
