BMW venom.....

Are you finding that your Giulia is angering BMW drivers ? Maybe it's just me, but the other day, on my normal commute to my office (in Race mode of course), a random 3 series *hitbox (driven by a very middle aged dude), decided to cross a double yellow line (as I passively moved into the right lane, he was behind me initially) and fly pass the car that was in front of me....I must tell you, I've noticed idiotic behavior like this before (usually from the pimple faced crowd) from drivers of the blue and white fan blade logo.....Maybe it's just me....just wondering....D :wink2:

BMW enthusiast friends and I have exchanged trash talk for years. One called my Alfa "a fractional Ferrari". For which I thanked him.

If anyone's interested, I've been calling his and others BMWs "WoMBats".

No venom but I feel they want to play.

Just last night I was playing with a 996 Turbo and a FD RX-7 on the highway. It was all on good fun.

I may be wrong but it seems the sight of the Giulia brings out the racy in some drivers. I was passing a car in the fast lane of the interstate at 75 mph. When I checked behind me the lane was clear. I'm beside the car I'm passing and look in the rearview and here's a Nissan Altima closing at an rate so fast he had to climb on the binders hard to the point where the rear end started twitching so much it had the front end dancing around. I think the people with him weren't very happy because he didn't resume his frantic pace.

The only time I had someone get pissed was a older jacked up diesel truck with what looked like kid about 20. I had been following him on a two lane for awhile and he was having fun rolling coal on the people behind him. We came to a stop sign and I was right behind him. He hammered it and was billowing a black cloud and I had enough. I went around him easily and dropped back to 60. He climbed on my bumper but was having trouble getting around because of traffic. He had to establish his dominance so he started to pass in a no go zone with a curve ahead and of course a car came around the bend. I had to slow to let him in. You can't fix stupid.

Every Stinger I see feels the need to act stupid around me. Why?
Every Stinger I see feels the need to act stupid around me. Why?
That’s their target owner demographic?

That is for sure. You did the right thing letting the truck pass. One never knows what kind of individual may be driving it (applies to all vehicles, of course)
Best policy: just wave!

Because it's prolly me in that e46 BMW... and yes, I have test-driven the GQ... and yes... already stopped getting oil-changes so I will have an excuse to get a new car... 😅

I've owned a lot of cars. Some of the ones that brought more than their fair share of attention form other drivers wanting to race or be a douche:

87 Grand National
00 Corvette
10 Camaro SS

The GN... well everyone wants to race a GN, and I was young and dumb when I owned that car.

By the time I had the Vette I was more mature, but man when you're a younger guy in a Vette, EVERYONE wants to race, BMWs, Mercedes, Mustangs, etc. They didn't seem to get the idea that I had no interest in it.

I had one of the first 2010 Camaro SS on Long Island, everyone would chase me either to check out the car or to try and race me. This went on for a good year before the car got more common and everyone forgot about it.

Now the Giulia QV, I will admit I haven't driven it much, but I've already had a couple M3's decide they needed to pass me at WOT when I wasn't even paying attention to assert their dominance. Its just confirmation bias, people want to think they bought "the best" car so they feel the need to demonstrate that to themselves even if its not a fair race or anything.

I once had a first gen Turbo Mitsu Eclipse, red, and pickups especially hated a red foreign car. Had to deal with that all the time. Now, when I had my Cobra, no one ever ever tried to race me, (just a Vette once), most just wanted to take pics and drive alongside and give a thumbs up. Anytime I wanted to pull out of gas station or parking lot, cars always waved me in. Just not common to see them out on the road. In 18K miles, don't recall anyone wanting to street race my QV, which I just don't do, although I will flip on my Forza controller for them. Stay safe. NV

I hop to-n-fro E30 M3 <-> Giulia in driveway and make angry gestures. :D

lol
well i had a similar incident with an audi twice
Had an Audi S3 driver that didn't like being cut off and decided to have a traffic cutting race. I didn't get involved until the person started brake checking me on purpose. I don't mind someone cutting me off but brake checking is completely douchy.
