Finally, just picked up my Quad from the body after 3 long months of repairs and while driving back home noticed that the odometer is blinking. Anyone knows what this is? Everything seems to be working fine.
I called the body shop but of course they have no idea.

On an unrelated subject. While picking up the car I was told that Hendrick of Concord (near Charlotte NC) no longer represents Alfa Romeo (still has the Fiat dealership) It was sold and did not know to whom. Awesome, now what for service. Not that they were that good at it.

A blinking odometer in Alfas of the past was a sign that something with the PROXY-Configuration is wrong. I assume it still means the same thing. Long story short: the car can't find something it thinks it should have (radio, control module, ...).

^This is correct, the car has to be reconfigured/proxy’d, so they either replaced a module with a new/different one, or removed a module and turned the key on, which would likely cause the same issue. I’m sure the dealer is the only place to go at this point.

or not plugged a lead back on one of the various modules scattered all over the car
a scan should point to the culprit

Received an email from the Alfa tech at he dealership and here is his answer

"This is an issue with a CAN BUS. Simply put, a control module is not calibrated, likely because of a battery disconnect. This needs to go to the dealer. Per my research it is a common issue with alfas after body repairs so we can submit a supplement for the same".

Yeap, trip to the dealer 40 miles away

The Hendrick dealer in Cary, NC is also losing their Alfa Romeo badge. I don't know if this is a Hendrick thing or part of a general transfer of Alfa Romeo assets to Maserati dealerships. I know of at least three Maserati dealerships that have added Alfa Romeo, and three Fiat dealers who have lost AR.

Alfa well FCA at least, have always wanted either a dedicated dealership or attached to a Maserati dealer, Jeeps and FIAT separated, its something they are working on constantly
we lost a local guy because he has a variety of cars ranging from Renaults, Mustangs GMs Kias to anything else non German - Alfa dropped them, now i have to make a 80klm trip for a free espresso

Hello AlfaGuy,

We certainly understand how inconvenient this trip back to dealer is. As you know, if we need to get this over to a Case Specialist, we're available via direct message.

@90Below Any idea when this will happen? Still being transferred to Johnson Maserati in Cary?

The Johnson people will not say when or even if they are getting the Alfa franchise, so I'm the wrong person to ask. But I strongly suspect they are. They are such a small dealership I have no idea where they are going to put them if they do.
