Alfissimo "GTA" (inspired) Performance Springs for Giulia QV

Alfissimo’s "GTA" inspired Performance Spring for the Giulia QV (Stelvio QV)

Made in Italy

Our springs have been developed to have slightly higher rates to the OEM GTA spring and perform better than OEM or any other spring on the market. We call them the "GTA" springs in order to connect the GTA/m ECU software and our springs for the ultimate suspension package. Although inspired by the GTA suspension spring they are not a copy of the GTA spring. We ordered GTA springs for testing and concluded the GTA springs are still too soft and not what we wanted to bring to QV/GTA/m owners. The whole point of developing these springs was to go beyond what any spring on the market (lowering only) or from Alfa produce. We put a great amount of thought and testing into them.

Coupled with the GTA/m Suspension Software ECU the Standard QV is transformed. Overall: Much better handling, no wallow, less droop, no bump steer, no teeter or rear end squat, slightly sportier in A,N modes (less float) but still maintains the characteristics of those modes and what they are there for. D mode is much sportier but compliant, Race-mode is much more for track use.

Made in Italy with the same manufacturer that produces our 2.0L springs, they are of the Highest quality, engineering and craftsmanship.

We have opted for a 9.55-10mm (could settle to 10mm+) lowering only, based of the 2017 QV Spring height. We developed these upgraded springs to run with the GTAm suspension software or Standard software to be compatible on the track to practical on the street. These springs may be slightly more costly than off the shelf lowering springs but there has been more R&D put into these springs than the others on the market. These compliment the car, shock calibration and work well in all modes.

Details:

Available in Powder coated Red with the option to special order Black (incognito)

~10mm Lowering from 2017 ride height.

TUV certified/ISO 9000/9001 (Certified for use on roads in Germany/EU)- NOT AVAILABLE YET

Fits Giulia/Stelvio QV/GTA/m. (Does fit Stelvio QV)

*Testing completed with track sessions @Sonoma Raceway and many hours on the street and now sold all over the world including 2x GTAm cars.

Also now our CORSA Dual Rate Spring.

Coupled with the CDCM Suspension Software from the GTA/m Cars this is the ULTIMATE Upgrade and a game changer.

We are also looking into a more track rated spring but we will have news on that later this year 2023.

If you did a weight balance, would you account for a driver? What about the gas tank?
Sorry, correct term is corner balancing. Driver must be inside, but I'm not sure about how much fuel should be there - perhaps 50%?

I find that you have to drive the car for the springs to settle. Have you done this already?
I drove a bit yesterday and Sunday to test them out.

I'll give it some more time.

Would love your review on these vs ST... I'm contemplating doing the same... How's the stance? Any pix for after? I love how the car looks on STs... would love a higher spring rate to help avoid the occasional bottoming out in the front.

Unless you decide to make spring spacers it is something you cannot change, so I would just let it go and leave it as it is. On cars with adjustable spring height you can also perform weight balacing, but apart from KW CDDC there are no such springs available for the Giulia. GMS is colaborating with Nitron to develop coilovers for the QV in the forseeable future.
Correct. Most springs vary a little. You can check out here the differences in heights with cars. So many variables too.

GMS and I are collaborating with Nitron. I meet with them on the 29th by the way. ;)

For me the car looks fine, likely needs some settling in.

I've thought of something.

I hardly drive this car in the streets.Over over half of it's mileage is track time at Road Atlanta.

Road Atlanta is mostly right turns. Super hard on the left side of the suspension and tires. My events are Saturday and Sundays, and on Sundays I swap my wheels/tires from left to right so that I can run the full two days. Otherwise my left tires would be shot before getting through Sunday.

That said, could it be that my spring perches/seats are more warn/flattened on the left side? This could account for smaller gap on the left than on the right.

I also blamed this on the installer of my KW springs, but could this also be perch/seat damage due to the extreme stresses exerted on the left of the car at Road Atlanta?

Yes, springs more accurately the suspension do settle and end up slightly lower then when initially installed. FACT.

Didn't observe that with ST Springs and Alfissimo GTA springs.

My data doesn't support your "fact".

Monitor this thread.

I'll post updates in here as I experience them more. Especially once I get to participate in another track day.

I also posted many photos and review of different spring setups and CDCM softwares... If you'd like to check them out.

I installed ST springs and the car ended up lower about .5cm after some normal driving.

I definitely observed this when I started racing on my ST springs. My car was practically slammed before removing them.

Leads me to believe that perhaps the spring itself is not weakened, but instead the rubber/plastic spring seats/perches are what give causing the springs to "settle" into them.

This could explain why my left side is lower than the right side, because Road Atlanta is ~9 right turns and 5 left turns, but none of the left turns are as fast and sweeping.

One of the left turns (T3) line is to cut across the rumbles with the right wheels. Seems like that would be harder on the right, but it actually catches air on the right and really compresses the left side.

I ordered all new spring seats from @Alfissimo today. Once I get them in I'll see if there's any change.

OK. Regardless of the recent discussions here, my installation DOES seem to be settling. Again, I suspect it's due to the springs fully settling into their perches.... not spring-sag which wouldn't make sense to me.

Anyway, these @Alfissimo springs [so far] are MUCH better than the KW ST springs! I didn't realize how much I hate the ST springs until now.

Here's the stance:

I have the "track" version of the spring. While I haven't tracked the car yet, I can tell you that the dual rate characteristic of this spring so far seems to work.

With my STs, I'd gotten to a point where I'd only use the car for track days because the daily use-case was just too harsh of a ride, not to mention how mental it made me to drive on the horrible public streets. I found that on my routine routes, I'd been programmed to involuntarily "brace" for dips, bumps, etc. It made for SUCH an exhausting, tense experience. So, like I said, I'd pretty much reserved the car for track days.

Now, the car feels like a really nice GT cruiser again. Really soaks up the bumps better than stock. YET, the few times I've powered it through some off-ramp loops. it really stiffens up and seems to have way less body roll than with the STs.

All in all, I can actually drive the car daily again if I choose, without being neurotic about road conditions. That's a good feeling.

The stance, although it's raised compared to the STs, imo still looks great. The clearance is much welcomed, for now I can get into the lower-levels of my office parking garage without "beaching" the car like a seesaw!

She just keeps getting better and better.

Alfissimo 17mm wheel spacers (front)

I can't wait to get her back on track to see how the springs truly perform in extreme sporting conditions. I'll report back after I have that track day.

Just dropped my car off for install of the GTA springs and GMS camber kit. Gotta get her a little lower for those John4c wheels!
