Hi forum members, I am considering doing some external mods to my Giulia QV using Koshi GTA parts mostly for aesthetic reasons. I was considering doing the front bumper with essentials parts (Stradale), front fenders and rear fender arches. I am stuck on the decision due to do the rear fender arches. I think aesthetically it would make sense to do them since the new front fenders will stick out more than the stock rear fenders however to install the rear fender arches Koshi recommends using 25 mm spacers all around and cutting/trimming the original rear fenders to prevent tire rubbing. I am reluctant on cutting the rear fenders and I am wondering if anyone has done the mod and can guide me on these questions that I have:

1- If I run stock 19 inch 5 hole wheels with stock Pirelli tires, can I get away with not having to trim the rear fenders?
2- After putting 25 mm spacers, how much clearance will I need between the tire and the rear fender edge to prevent rubbing?
3- Any downsides to doing the external GTA mods? or anything I need to watch out for? this is my daily driven car.

Will appreciate any help/input I can get on this topic.

Thanks!

I've only honestly seen a couple clean examples of this modification, but even then, something looks off, like you can tell its not a real one. Most of them remind me of back in the 90's and early 2000's when people would put body kits on Honda Civics lol but anyways to each their own.
If you go ahead with at least the real carbon fiber parts it will cost a lot, I have looked into this before and it was around $20-25k just in the parts, so not cheap for just looks.
On a side note, 25mm spacers are pretty extreme to run on especially being a daily driver. This will put a lot of extra force and stress on the suspension components and more so the wheel bearings. If you must do spacers, I would do 10mm maximum to be on the safer side.
If you run the factory rim and tire size and you get that carbon rear fender added on, it will look funny looking from the rear of the car.
Hope that helps you somewhat....

Thanks for your response, I agree with what you are saying. Yeah I was looking to do it with real CF parts from KOSHI, I like the drive-ability and comfort of 19 inch wheels over the 20 inch ones. If I don’t use the rear arches, I agree it will look off since the front fenders will now be wider by 25 mm on each side. So if I go this route, I have to use the rear arches for a complete look. That also means that I will have to use spacers, minimum 20 mm (ideally 25 mm) all around to compensate for the 25 mm increase in width of the fenders and this means that my rear wheels will go past the rear fender edge. I don’t know if they will rub on the edge when driving on street roads and speed breakers?

I have a Shelby GT350R and the stock tires poke out of rear fenders by a 1/4 inch, the clearance between the wheel and the fender edge is about 2 inches (which is less than Alfa’s which is about 2.25 inch) so far I have zero rubbing issues on it and that gives me optimism that it might work with my Alfa Giulia QV but I am not sure if it would.
