Luckily not all dealerships pay shit wages.. there are many that respect their qualified techs and take very good care of them....It's unfortunate that the pay for dealer techs is so low, especially considering the labor rates they charge customers. A tech can make or break a dealership. Substandard work will not only alienate the customer, but also affect dealer's bottom line by necessitating comebacks.
I always encourage people to get to know the tech who works on their car..if you have a good one, ask for them by name.... build a relationship with that tech and request them when you make your appointment . I bet most wives have a special hairdresser they use , and they will wait to get an appointment because they already knows they will get a good result.... yet most people drop off a car and have no idea who is working on it, and more often than not, its a different tech every time.
