I get the service dampers light almost every time I drive up my dirt driveway. Steven's Creek Alfa Romeo more-or-less told me "they do that", explaining that if the CDCM cannot keep the movement of the suspension within expected parameters it will throw an error. No Giulia rally car with OEM adaptive shocks I guess.
I do have the Alfissimo QV programmed CDCM. This means my CDCM thinks I have a QV even though I have a Q4 with Race mod. That stiffens the damping a little, adds the "hard" damping mode (which I do not use on my driveway) and may make the service dampers indication more likely. The Q4 front dampers are rather short.
