Wheel Edge Protection

My Alfa Wheels have a rim edge that is very susceptible to curb rash. I found this product which I ordered on Amazon and will hopefully have delivered soon. It may be of interest to others too.

It would be nice to see it in chrome or silver. Should be easy as the door edge guard can be found in chrome.

It comes in a myriad of colors - just about anything you can think of. The car is black with yellow calipers and I didn't want to highlight the wheels with a contrasting color. The black edge guard should be invisible against the black body. My car came with the Nero option so I'm staying black, until I find a darker color

Having already shelled out $400 to fix two wheels (Chicago Wheel Service does great work btw) I'm very interested in this. How has this worked out for you?

It should be here courtesy of China Post, on the 7th of May. I'll post pics as soon as have it installed. The reviews online were really good

FYI - I have read that they can come loose and do some serious damage to your wheel wells and fender.

This is exactly why I ask. That’s a lot of energy that these protectors need to fight against to remain on the wheel lip.

We'l find out soon enough. The item is apparently at a post office in my zip code, waiting to be delivered.
The advice I have been given is to break it up into three or four separate pieces so that if it does come loose, it will detach entirely instead of acting like the end of a whip

The stuff arrived from China today. I cut a small piece about 2 inches long to try it to. I peeled the adhesive backing off and put it on the wheel. It conforms perfectly and looks great except for one BIG problem - the glue on this product is virtually non existent and it peeled off at the lightest touch. I will try it with some superglue and see if it stays on.
If it does it is a perfect protector for the rim edge on the dark hole wheels
UPDATE The glued piece looks good so far. If it is still on the wheel tomorrow, l'll glue the stuff on all the wheels on the weekend
