It sounds to me that once all three memory settings are set, the seat no longer slides back upon exit of the vehicle....But I'm just guessing....You could always code memory # 2 at a more rearward position and push # 2 upon exiting...I know this is not an ideal solution, but it would work.....Just sayin....D

Actually, I think that is pretty close to an ideal solution. About the only thing better would be to have a switch to control the easy exit feature. The point being that when I have a rear seat passenger I do not want to have to make apologies for the behavior of the car. Just let me control these things.

I've tried that many times and it does not change anything. Service department at the dealership told me there is no way to turn it off. Anyone's car that doesn't do it has exploited some kind of defect.

Garage
I programmed my third button tonight and my seat still moves back upon exit and it does not matter which memory button I choose. So I have all 3 programmed and drivers seat still moves back upon exiting.

Did a test, reprogrammed 1 (1 did not move back for my driving position ) to be closer to steering wheel and seat moved back on exit, programed a little further back still moved back, then programed further back (but not all the way back) and seat no longer moved back. So my conclusion is it depends on where the seat is on exit.

I also notice that if I'm in car and it's on, if my back door is opened my drivers seat will move foward to ease entry for passenger. Dependent on seat position also.

Interesting. That is the first I have heard of that.

Same here. I'm gonna try to replicate that later.
@riparke , Car is on or running? In park? And the seat is in the easy exit position or your memorized position?

My seat was in memorized position 1, which is pretty far back, car on engine running in park, service manager opened rear drivers door to go with me on a drive and the seat moved forward for him and stayed forward.

So what happens if the driver gets out before the rear seat passenger? Does the drivers seat stay forward or does it do the easy exit thing? Maybe there is a rear seat occupancy detector (maybe the car assumes that if you got in via door X you will only exit via door X, and that entry happens before driving while exit happens after driving, or some such?) and that alters the easy exit behavior?

If there is a rear seat occupancy detector, maybe a malfunction of it is behind the non-functioning easy exit reports?

Got a rear passenger, let them out first. Problem solved. I don't see the big deal with easy exit seats, most upscale cars have them.
